SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 280

A JOINT RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE FOR THE Senate AND THE House of Representatives TO ELECT MEMBERS TO THE STATE BOARD OF COMMUNITY COLLEGES.

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

SECTION 1.  Pursuant to G.S. 115D‑2.1(b)(4)f., the Senate and the House of Representatives shall elect members to the State Board of Community Colleges during the regular sessions of the two chambers to be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019. At that time, the Senate shall elect one member to the State Board for a term of six years beginning July 1, 2019. The House of Representatives shall also elect one member to the State Board for a term of six years beginning July 1, 2019.

SECTION 2.  Pursuant to G.S. 115D‑2.1(b)(4)e., the House of Representatives shall elect one member to the State Board to fill an unexpired term ending June 30, 2021, during the regular session of the chamber to be held Thursday, April 11, 2019.

SECTION 3.  Each chamber shall follow the procedure set out in G.S. 115D‑2.1 for the nomination and election of members to the State Board.

SECTION 4.  This resolution is effective upon ratification.
