SENATE BILL 327

AN ACT AMENDING G.S. 162-22 RELATING TO FEES PAID TO JAILERS FOR THE CARE OF PRISONERS PLACED IN THEIR CUSTODY.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1.  G.S. 162-22 is amended by adding the end thereof as follows:

"No law enforcement officer or jailer who shall have the care and custody of any jail shall receive any portion of any jail fee or charge paid by or for any person confined in such jail, nor shall the compensation or remuneration of such officer be effected to any extent by the costs of goods or services furnished to any person confined in such jail."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall become effective on January 1, 1970.
