HOUSE BILL 556

 

AN ACT TO VALIDATE THE SPECIAL BOND ELECTION HELD IN THE TOWN OF LINCOLNTON, NORTH CAROLINA, ON JANUARY 14, 1969.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  All proceedings heretofore had or taken in the Town of Lincolnton at, or in connection with, the special election held in said Town on January 14, 1969, at which the majority of the qualified voters of said Town voting at such election approved the issuance of two hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($225,000) of bonds to finance the construction of a new Town Hall and the issuance of seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000.00) of bonds to finance the construction of a new Fire Station, are hereby ratified, validated and confirmed notwithstanding that notice of said special election was not published in the manner prescribed by law, providing that no action, suit or proceeding to contest the validity of such special election or of said bonds has heretofore been instituted in any court in the State.

Sec. 2. This Act shall apply to the Town of Lincolnton only.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
