SENATE BILL 151
AN ACT TO ALLOW THE wake COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS TO REDISTRICT THEIR RESIDENCY DISTRICTS and to bring wake county under the general law concerning filling of vacancies on its county board of commissioners.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. G.S. 153A-22.1(f), as enacted by Chapter 215 of the 1995 Session Laws, and as rewritten by S.L. 1998-175, reads as rewritten:
"(f) This section
applies to Henderson and Moore Henderson, Moore, and Wake Counties
only."
SECTION 2. G.S. 153A-27.1(h) reads as rewritten:
"(h) This section
shall apply only in the following counties: Alamance, Alexander, Alleghany,
Avery, Beaufort, Brunswick, Buncombe, Burke, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Carteret,
Cherokee, Clay, Cleveland, Cumberland, Dare, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Graham,
Guilford, Haywood, Henderson, Hyde, Jackson, Lee, Lincoln, Macon, Madison,
McDowell, Mecklenburg, Moore, Pender, Polk, Randolph, Rockingham, Rutherford,
Sampson, Stanly, Stokes, Transylvania, Wake, and Yancey."
SECTION 3. Section 12 of Chapter 763 of the 1981 Session Laws is repealed.
SECTION 4. This act is effective when it becomes law, except that Sections 2 and 3 of this act apply only to vacancies occurring on or after the date this act becomes law.
