HOUSE BILL 16
AN ACT to repeal outdated and unnecessary insurance reporting requirements, as recommended by the Department of Insurance.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. G.S. 58‑2‑165(b) reads as rewritten:
"(b) The Commissioner
may require statements under this section, G.S. 58‑2‑170, section
and G.S. 58‑2‑190 to be filed in a format that can be read
by electronic data processing equipment, provided that this subsection does not
apply to an audited financial statement prepared by a certified public
accountant that is submitted by a town or county mutual pursuant to subsection
(a1) of this section."
SECTION 2. G.S. 58‑2‑170 is repealed.
SECTION 3. G.S. 58‑36‑3(c) is repealed.
SECTION 4. G.S. 58‑40‑130(e) is repealed.
SECTION 5. G.S. 58‑50‑95 is repealed.
SECTION 6. G.S. 58‑3‑191(a) and (b1) are repealed.
SECTION 7. G.S. 58‑67‑140(a)(7) is repealed.
SECTION 8. This act is effective when it becomes law.
