HOUSE BILL 240

 

 

AN ACT to allow the City of albemarle to use city labor for certain work related to the construction of a business center without regard to the dollar value of the labor.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding G.S. 143‑135, the City of Albemarle may use qualified labor on the permanent payroll of the City for the following work related to the construction of a business center:

(1)        Installation of electrical lines to the business center and up to any structure within the business center.

(2)        Installation of water and sewer lines to the business center and up to any structure within the business center.

SECTION 2.  In carrying out the authority granted in this act, the City shall not be subject to the provisions of Article 8 of Chapter 143 of the General Statutes, except for all of the following:

(1)        G.S. 143‑128.2.

(2)        G.S. 143‑128.3.

(3)        G.S. 143‑129.

SECTION 3.  This act is effective when it becomes law and expires on December 31, 2028.
