AN ACT to remove certain described property from the corporate limits of the Town of north wilkesboro.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

SECTION 1.  The following described property is removed from the corporate limits of the Town of North Wilkesboro:

BEGINNING on granite monument (found) on the North side of SR 1517, Sunset Drive, said monument being located North 67 degrees 44' 57'' West 154.00 from a˝" rebar, found, on the South side of said road. THENCE South 10 degrees 47' 48" East 39.62 feet to the center of SR 1517. THENCE with the center of said road for the next (6) calls: South 86 degrees 12' 06" West 125.76 feet; South 86 degrees 41' 11" West 58.19 feet; South 87 degrees 53' 37" West 42.37 feet; North 89 degrees 55' 29" West 39.64 feet; North 85 degrees 48' 33" West 32.57 feet; North 82 degrees 09' 19" West 13.72 feet to a computed point over the branch, said point being located North 25 degrees 43' 47" East 221.09 feet from a Mag Nail in the center of the bridge on SR 1502. THENCE leaving said road, North 02 degrees 10' 30" West 16.80 feet to a 5/8" rebar, said rebar being located North 50 degrees 31' 27" East 23.03 feet from a Mag Nail in the center of SR 1517 and centerline intersection of SR 1505. THENCE continuing, North 02 degrees 10' 30" West 4.47 feet to the center of the branch. THENCE continuing North 88 degrees 19' 22" East 216.70 feet to a granite monument, found broken. THENCE South 10 degrees 47' 48" East 717.78 feet to the BEGINNING. Containing 4.93 acres, more or less, by coordinate computation.

SECTION 2.  This act has no effect upon the validity of any liens of the Town of North Wilkesboro for ad valorem taxes or special assessments outstanding before the effective date of this act. Such liens may be collected or foreclosed upon after the effective date of this act as though the property were still within the corporate limits of the Town of North Wilkesboro.

SECTION 3.  This act becomes effective June 30, 2022. Property in the territory described in Section 1 of this act as of January 1, 2022, is no longer subject to municipal taxes for taxes imposed for taxable years beginning on or after July 1, 2022.
