§ 143B-1209.41. Criminal record checks of applicants for certification by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services as euthanasia technicians.
The State Bureau of Investigation may provide a criminal record check to the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for a person who has applied for a new or renewal certification as a euthanasia technician. The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services shall provide the Bureau a request for the criminal record check, the fingerprints of the individual to be checked, any additional information required by the Bureau, and a form signed by the person seeking certification consenting to the check of the criminal record. The fingerprints shall be used for a search of the State's criminal history record file, and the Bureau shall forward a set of fingerprints to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for a national criminal history record check. The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services shall keep all information pursuant to this section privileged, in accordance with applicable State law and federal guidelines, and the information shall be confidential and shall not be a public record under Chapter 132 of the General Statutes.
