Peer-to-Peer Vehicle Sharing.

§ 20-280.15.  Definitions.

The following definitions apply in this Article:

(1) Airport operator. - As defined in G.S. 20-280.1.

(2) Peer-to-peer vehicle sharing. - The authorized use of a shared vehicle for financial consideration by an individual other than the shared vehicle owner through a peer-to-peer vehicle sharing program.

(3) Peer-to-peer vehicle sharing program. - A commercial business platform that connects shared vehicle owners with drivers to enable peer-to-peer vehicle sharing.

(4) Shared vehicle. - A vehicle that is available for peer-to-peer vehicle sharing.

(5) Shared vehicle owner. - The registered owner of a shared vehicle, or a person or entity designated by the registered owner, who has not made an election under G.S. 105-187.5.

(6) Vehicle sharing provider. - The person or entity that operates, facilitates, or administers the provision of personal vehicle sharing through a peer-to-peer vehicle sharing program.  (2019-199, s. 9(a); 2026-31, s. 7.3.)
