H97 - 2015 Appropriations Act, Sec. 12A.4: Health Information Technology (SL 2015-241)

Overview: Sec. 12A.4 of S.L. 2015-241 directs the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the State Chief Information Officer (State CIO) to coordinate health information technology (HIT) in order to avoid duplication of efforts and in support of State and national goals. DHHS, in cooperation with the Department of Information Technology, must establish and direct a HIT management structure. DHHS must provide a comprehensive report on the status of HIT efforts to the Joint Legislative Committee on Health and Human Services, the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Information Technology, and the Fiscal Research Division no later than January 15, 2016.
