H1030 - 2016 Appropriations Act. (SL 2016-94)

Overview: Sec. 12B.1 of S.L. 2016-94 amends a provision enacted in the 2015 Appropriations Act that directed the Division of Child Development and Early Education in the Department of Health and Human Services to continue implementation of the NC Pre-K program to serve four year olds. This section clarifies that private child care centers and public schools operating prekindergarten classrooms must meet the building standards for preschool students rather than building standards for licensed child care facilities.

This section became effective July 1, 2016.
