H1030 - 2016 Appropriations Act. (SL 2016-94)

Overview: Sec. 7.7 of S.L. 2016-94, as amended by Sec. 3.1 of S.L. 2016-123, requires the Department of Information Technology to create a cybersecurity apprenticeship program to provide training, apprenticeships, and career-based opportunities for disabled veterans who have at least a 10% disability rating as established by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. The State Chief Information Officer must conduct a competitive process to select up to five disabled veterans to participate in the apprenticeship program using funds allocated by the 2016 Appropriations Act, however the Department is permitted to use funds generated from receipts for continuation or expansion of the program beyond the 2016-2017 fiscal year.
