S257 - Appropriations Act of 2017. (SL 2017-57)

Overview: Sec. 11E.5 of S.L. 2017-57 directs the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to administer an evidence-based diabetes prevention program targeting minority populations in consultation with the Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention Section. The program should be modeled after the program recommended by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. DHHS must report on the program to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services by December 1, 2017, and annually thereafter.
