S257 - Appropriations Act of 2017. (SL 2017-57)

Overview: Sec. 11E.7 of S.L. 2017-57 amends Part 1 of Article 1 of Chapter 130A by adding a new section (G.S. 130A-4.4) to require the Department of Health and Human Services to work with the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and use DPS funds to purchase drugs to treat AIDS for individuals in the custody of DPS. The funds must be used in a way that allows them to be accounted for as State matching funds in the federal AIDS Drug Assistance Program.

This section became effective July 1, 2017.
