Overview: Sec. 11F.12 of S.L. 2017-57 (SB 257) requires the Department of Health and Human Services to study and report to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services on the feasibility and cost of, and any obstacles to, establishing additional State-operated facilities throughout the State to: (1) provide statewide access to best practice, cost-effective, residential mental health treatment to children, ages 6 to 12, with serious emotional and behavioral disorders and (2) support their families and communities by building the capacity to meet their children's special needs at home, at school, and within their local communities.
This section became effective July 1, 2017.
