S257 - Appropriations Act of 2017. (SL 2017-57)

Overview: Section 35.18 of S.L. 2017-57 provides that it is the policy of the State that State departments and agencies select from the pool of the most qualified persons for State government employment based on job qualifications. It also requires State departments and agencies to select from the pool of the most qualified persons for State government employment without regard to political affiliation or political influence. This section became effective July 1, 2017.
