Overview: Sec. 4.18 of S.L. 2020-4, as enacted by Section 1.3 of S.L. 2020-97, directs the expenditure of $300,000 appropriated to the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Social Services, to establish a student health collaborative pilot program allowing a local education agency to collaborate with the county department of social services to assist students with their mental and physical well-being while in a public school setting in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Division of Social Services must submit a progress report six months after implementing the pilot program to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services, the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee, and the Fiscal Research Division.
