S105 - 2021 Appropriations Act. (SL 2021-180)

Overview: Section 9E.4A of S.L. 2021-180 requires the Department of Health and Human Services to exempt new acute care hospitals from Certificate of Need review provided the requestor explains why the hospital is required, and the hospital will be in a county meeting all of the following criteria: (i) the county has a population between 40,000 and 50,000 and a land area under 460 square miles; (ii) the county contains a portion of a city that is in more than one county; and (iii) the county is along the State's border with another state.

This section became effective December 18, 2021, and will expire December 31, 2024.
