S105 - 2021 Appropriations Act. (SL 2021-180)

Overview: Section 9B.8 of S.L. 2021-180 provides that of funds appropriated from the State Fiscal Recovery Fund to the Office of Rural Health, Division of Central Management and Support, Department of Health and Human Services, $1.5 million in nonrecurring funds for the 2021-2022 fiscal year must be allocated as a grant to the East Carolina University Center for Telepsychiatry and e-Behavioral Health for the statewide telepsychiatry program, known as NC-Step. The grant funds must be used to respond to COVID-19 public health emergency by providing virtual psychiatric assessments and consultations to patients utilizing telepsychiatry (as defined in G.S. 143B-139.4B).

The ECU Center for Telepsychiatry and e-Behavioral Health must report to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services and the Fiscal Research Division on the use of grant funds by July 1, 2022
