S105 - 2021 Appropriations Act. (SL 2021-180)

Overview: Section 9D.14 of S.L. 2021-180 directs the Department of Health and Human Services to seek federal approval to allow a parent to retain Medicaid coverage while the parent's child is being served temporarily by the foster care system, so long as the parent is making reasonable efforts to comply with a court-ordered reunification plan. This retention of coverage will be effective upon federal approval, but if approval is not granted by June 30, 2023, then the section expires on that date. The remainder of this section became effective July 1, 2021.
