S105 - 2021 Appropriations Act. (SL 2021-180)

Overview: Section 7.57 of S.L. 2021-180 expands who is eligible to receive a lifetime license from the State Board of Education (SBE) to include administrators and student services personnel. The SBE must issue lifetime licenses to professional educators who are currently licensed and meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Completed 30 or more years of creditable service with the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System.
• Completed a combined total of 30 or more years of employment as a licensed teacher, administrator, or student services personnel in one or more public school units in North Carolina.

This section became effective November 18, 2021.
