S105 - 2021 Appropriations Act. (SL 2021-180)

Overview: Section 9G.13 of S.L. 2021-180 provides that of the funds appropriated to the Division of Public Health, Department of Health and Human Services, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Cooperative Agreement for Emergency Response: Public Health Crisis Response, COVID-19 Public Health Workforce Supplemental Funding received pursuant to ARPA, at least 25% of the funds must be reserved in accordance with federal guidance to provide funding for school-based health services personnel in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

For purposes of the section, school-based health services personnel include school nurses, school psychologists, school counselors, and school social workers. These funds must be used to supplement and not supplant other State, local, or federal funds appropriated or allocated for this purpose.

This section became effective July 1, 2021.
