H103 - 2022 Appropriations Act. (SL 2022-74)

Overview: Section 9D.15 of S.L. 2022-74 directs the Department of Health and Human Services to submit the necessary State Plan amendments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to merge the NC Health Choice and the Medicaid programs by eliminating the NC Health Choice program and providing Medicaid coverage to the population of children historically served by NC Health Choice. The section directs the merger to occur before July 1, 2023. The section also makes conforming changes throughout the General Statutes.

The directive to merge the programs became effective July 11, 2022, and the remainder of this section becomes effective on the date that the NC Health Choice program is eliminated, as approved by CMS.
