H259 - 2023 Appropriations Act. (SL 2023-134)

Overview: Section 9F.11 of S.L. 2023-134 amends the definition of "hospital" in the Hospital Licensure Act to include a rural emergency hospital as defined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Previously existing hospitals that seek CMS designation as rural emergency hospitals must notify the Department of Health and Human Services that they are seeking that designation.

This section became effective October 3, 2023
