Overview: Section 5.2 of S.L. 2023-63 allows the Commissioner of Agriculture (Commissioner), with the advice and consent of the Board of Agriculture, to adopt rules related to markets operated by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and retain current rules relating to markets for which the statutory authority was repealed in 2021. This section also allows the Commissioner to adopt rules to set reasonable fees for calibration services and adjustments performed by the Metrology Laboratory Section of the Standards Division.
This bill was vetoed by the Governor on June 23, 2023, and that veto was overridden by the General Assembly on June 27, 2023.
This section became effective June 27, 2023.
