Overview: Section 14.10 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) modifies the Great Trails State Program established in 2023 to provide matching grants for eligible trail projects, by requiring that: (i) funded projects be located in the State; and (ii) wherever possible and appropriate, trail amenities and trail structures developed by eligible entities with funds allocated should follow standard designs and specifications for the State Trails Systems as the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources specifies.
This section became effective July 1, 2026.
