S355 - North Carolina Farm Act of 2024. (SL 2024-32)

Overview: Section 11 of S.L. 2024-32 provides additional requirements for the use of funds appropriated to the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (DACS) by the 2023 Appropriations Act to provide funds to support the Global Teacher Fellowship. This section requires that the funds be used to establish an endowment to provide scholarships for the Global Teacher Fellowship program with a focus on agricultural teachers, and that the fellowship is open to any individual directly associated with the agricultural industry, regardless of connection to education. DACS is required to report to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources and Economic Resources and the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee annually on the administration of the endowment.
