H1104 - Improve Involuntary Commitment Process and Enhance Public Safety. (SL 2026-38)

Overview: Section 1 of S.L. 2026‑38 (House Bill 1104) requires the North Carolina Collaboratory (Collaboratory) to study statutes, practices, and available technological resources related to the involuntary commitment (IVC) process and identify areas for improvement in the IVC process. The Collaboratory must submit to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services a progress report by December 1, 2026, and a final report by March 1, 2027.
