Overview: Section 17.9 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) changes the inmate medical cost reporting requirement for the Department of Adult Correction in the following two ways:

  • The report is also required to be submitted to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services.
  • The report is changed from a quarterly report to a semi-annual report.  

This section became effective July 7, 2026, and applies to reports submitted on or after that date.
