Overview: Section 7 of S.L. 2026-59 (Senate Bill 445) exempts from licensure as a barber or cosmetologist individuals employed outside of barbershops and cosmetic art shops whose duties are limited only to shampooing or blow drying of hair, provided they follow applicable statutes and rules concerning sanitation.
This section became effective August 11, 2026.
