Overview: Section 7.59 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) adjusts the per pupil allotment for charter schools so that a remote charter school receives the average State per pupil allocation for each child attending the charter school rather than the average per pupil allocation for the local school administrative unit in which the charter school is located.
This section became effective July 7, 2026, and applies beginning with the 2027-2028 school year.
