Overview: Section 7.45 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) requires the Department of Public Instruction to annually allocate $350,000 to the local school administrative units that operate the following cooperative innovative high schools:

  • The School of Inquiry and Life Sciences at Asheville.
  • The Durham Early College of Health Sciences.

This section became effective July 1, 2026.
