Overview: Section 24 of S.L. 2026‑59 (Senate Bill 445) prohibits any new school building from being built within one mile, measured in a straight line from property line to property line, of any existing sport shooting range. This section applies only in Brunswick County.
This section became effective August 11, 2026, and applies only to school buildings constructed in Brunswick County on or after that date.
