Overview: Section 2.4 of S.L. 2024-1 requires the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) to report annually by March 15 to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee on the use of funds appropriated to the Transportation Reserve Fund for Homeless and Foster Children (Fund). The Fund is the source of funds for a grant program covering extraordinary school transportation costs for homeless and foster students. The annual report must include information on the amount applied for and received by each local school administrative unit, as well as how the funds were spent.
