Overview: Section 4.3 of S.L. 2025-97 (Senate Bill 449) appropriates $700,000 in recurring funds beginning in the 2025-2026 fiscal year from the General Fund to the Department of Environmental Quality for the Environmental Management Commission (Commission) to hire five permanent staff. This section also authorizes the Chair of the Commission to (i) organize and direct the work of the staff and (ii) approve expenses incurred by the staff during travel for official business.

This section became effective July 1, 2025.
