Overview: Section 5.9 of S.L. 2025-2 (House Bill 47) extends the temporary flexibility for the enforcement of quality improvement plans and annual review rules by the North Carolina Medical Board and the North Carolina Board of Nursing until one year after the issuance of the state of emergency issued by the Governor under Executive Order No. 315 on September 25, 2024. This temporary flexibility only applies to the enforcement of quality improvement plans and annual review rules for collaborative practice agreements for physician assistants and nurse practitioners who reside or are employed in the affected area.
