Overview: Section 7 of S.L. 2025‑70 (Senate Bill 429) amends the reporting requirement under the Crime Victim's Compensation Act to allow a victim 6 months, rather than 72 hours, to report the criminally injurious conduct to law enforcement and still be eligible for benefits under the act.

This section became effective July 9, 2025, and applies to applications filed on or after that date.
