Overview: Section 19 of S.L. 2025-70 (Senate Bill 429) removes the default of a concurrent sentence if not expressly stated by the court and requires the court to make a finding on the record stating its reasoning for determining whether sentences shall run concurrently or consecutively.

This section becomes effective December 1, 2025, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
