Overview: Section 1.2 of S.L. 2026-44 (Senate Bill 355) modifies technical requirements for electronic monitoring and satellite‑based monitoring by amending the definition of electronic monitoring to no longer require that the device has a battery life of at least 48 hours.
This section became effective July 7, 2026, and applies to an electronic monitoring device used on or after that date.
