The Joint Legislative Program Evaluation Oversight Committee (JLPEOC) was composed of eight Senators and eight Representatives appointed by legislative leadership.

In addition to projects assigned directly by the General Assembly through law, JLPEOC determined evaluation topics and established the work plan of the Division in consultation with the Division director.

PED staff presented evaluation findings and recommendations at monthly JLPEOC meetings. Evaluation reports included recommendations for programmatic improvements and were accompanied by a bill draft. JLPEOC voted on whether to recommend bill drafts based on PED reports. JLPEOC members volunteered to sponsor bill drafts, and PED staff assisted bill sponsors as requested.
